Marilyn is an educator and an artist. As a credentialled teacher, Marilyn taught in alternative learning programs before spending twenty years homeschooling her three daughters, Alexis, Abra, and Amanda, now 27, 25 and 23 years old. In addition to being a creative crafter, Marilyn is a professional birthday party clown ("Poq'Po"), "The Singing Christmas Tree," "Mrs. Claus," an a'capella Renaissance singer, actor, screenwriter, poet, director and award-winning scarecrow sculptor. Marilyn is also a Master Gardener and "The Story Lady".

The Griffin Creek Grange Hall is located on the corner of Griffin Creek Road and West Griffin Creek Road in Southwest Medford. It was built as a one-room schoolhouse in 1911.
